Biogas containing methane is a valuable by-product of anaerobic digestion which can be utilised in the production of renewable energy.

Monsal provide a suite of technology for collection, storage, handling, treatment and utilisation of biogas. This includes provision of gas cleaning and conditioning processes, biogas monitoring and quality measurement, Health and safety services including zoning and full biogas plant audits.

Biogas can be converted to energy via suitable technologies or upgraded and used as a fuel. Monsal's specialist teams can advise on all aspects of CHP implementation from initial process audits, CHP selection and specification to full design build capability. Integration of CHP with anaerobic digestion including heat recovery is a core competence. We also specialise in the application of heat from the digestion/CHP process including generation of stream for process or plant duties.
